Janne Eraker and Harald Fetveit with Naaktgeboren - the ninth of 10 singles from the groundbreaking tap dance album Movements for Listening!
It’s a bulldozer, rolling over old ideas and expectations. Like two screaming kids, Eraker’s tap dance and Fetveit’s electronic noise meet at Blitz, well represented in Morten Minothi Kristiansen intense video teaser. Naaktgeboren; “born naked” in Dutch, is a surname that supposedly someone sarcastically made up when Napoleon had conquered the country and wanted everyone to register. As it says on the backdrop: No one is illegal!
Harald Fetveit started to play noise in the mid-eighties and has developed a characteristic, forward-leaning sound, often full of ruptures and rapid dynamic changes. He has played at festivals like All Ears, Cable, Noise and Fury and has toured in Europe, Japan, South Korea, South East Asia and Russia. He is educated in visual arts, from the art academies in Bergen, Trondheim, Oslo and Vienna, and has worked with site specific installations and photography. He also has a background from performance art, with a.o. Baktruppen, and today has occasional involvements in contemporary dance. Some of his work naturally revolves around making the experiences from the different fields of arts function together. For example in making sound installations for body movement or temporary sound laboratories for deaf people. Since 2003, he has been running “Dans for voksne”, a series for experimental concerts and related activities, and has organized more than 400 gigs and workshops. He has performed with people like Junko Hiroshige, Hankil Ryu, Mattin, Lucio Capece, John Hegre, Mette Rasmussen and Anla Courtis, with whom he also collaborates in the project DNA? AND? with kids with Down syndrome or mental disabilities.
Daan Botlek is a visual artist from the Netherlands. He created the cover of the double vinyl record and the ten digital singles. These are all unique murals made in his atelier in Rotterdam, as a part of his artistic project called Primitive Practice.
Janne Eraker is a tap dancer based in Norway. She has roots in many places; born in Germany, raised in Norway, educated and started a family in the Netherlands. Also her dancing has many roots, starting with Balkan folk dances, swinging by competition dancing, musicals, contemporary and modern dance, and now fermenting all of it into her tap dancing. Eraker is fascinated by the sound of tap dance, and has worked a long time to create all kinds of music with it. Her work spans from improvised concerts to choreographed dance pieces, collaborating with a wide range of artists. In 2022 she released her first album Gol Variations with the trio One Small Step. As a performer she also dances in the Sebastian Weber Dance Company in Germany.

This is some subtle Click'n'Cuts Dub tinged Electronica with soft Drone pads that drift in the organic background soundscapes produced by a true master.
This release and the "Movement" release should be bought together for full listening pleasure.
